Question:
BCBS TRS Active Care - Appeal for Revision to RNY

I have been denied by BCBS TRS for a revision from VBG to RNY. They are saying that I need 12 mos of Dr. supervised diet. After my VBG in 2002 I was cut loose by my surgeon and my PCP was not that familiar with WLS. I logged in everything I ate, drank, exercise, etc. on fitday.com and was a member of Curves and worked out 3-4 times per week. I did this for 7 months until I began having problems with my VBG which ulitmately caused failure. I need help with the appeal letter/process.    — DJeffrey (posted on March 23, 2005)

I had my bypass 1/03 with Dr. Coirin in Manteca, now he is in Modesto with his "partner in cure", Dr. Coates. They're names are Dr. Antonio Coirin and Dr. Patrick Coates. Dr. Coirin was an IDEAL surgeon with excellent staff care. He was completely attentive and concerned. Never did he cut me loose. You might want to give him a call.
