Question:
How many protein drinks a day to reset my pouch?
I've gained some weight back and am working on getting it back off. I was thinking that if I reset my pouch by going on just protein drinks for about a week, that might help. How many is too many? I mix my Proscore 100 with water and ice in a blender. I'm hoping Vitalady will see this and reply as I trust your judgement immensely; you're my hero! — Teri D. (posted on March 10, 2004)

Well, gulp, I don't have all the answers there are, ya know? LOL! I'm not
quite sure what you mean about resetting your pouch. Using protein shakes
(and protein food and/or things like salads, with dressing) can help reset
your dump-o-meter and get the carb monster off your back. Are you thinking
you can make it fresh post-op size again? I don't think we can. We can
teach it to feel some fullness on less, but we can't go back to those early
days again. Still, getting a grip on appetite, volume, carbs all has a
bearing on who is in charge: me or the food? So, I use protein shakes like
a sword to fend off the enemy! And I'm not ashamed to admit it!
