Question:
I need help with buying a strapless bra
Since I've had RNY in May of 2001, I've lost 140#s. Yahoo! Problem is I need a strapless bra for a cocktail dress for Christmas party. The boobs are flat, empty socks that hang down to the belly button. How do I find something to put them in that will work for a dress with spagetti straps? I used to be a 46 DD and now I wear a 34C because I can't find a 32 C even at Victoria's Secret! Anyone offer any advice? — Teri D. (posted on November 14, 2003)

My mama used to call them "falsies". You can buy them most
anywhere that sells underwear. I think they look much better now and are
called "breast enhancers" or something like that.

If you cant find anything at Victoria's Secret I'm not sure where you
should look. My girlfriend had to wear strapless for a wedding she was in
and couldnt find anything either. She ended up using duct tape. Only
problem is it hurts like a son of a gun to remove. Yikes. Good luck!

If you live anywhere near a Parisian Dept. store and they are all over the
country, go to their Intimate Apparel Dept. They have Certified Fitters
that will get you what you want. Most of us are wearing the wrong size bra
anyway so you can kill 2 birds with 1 stone and let them fit you while
you're there. Believe me it makes a world of difference when you've got the
right size going on. Also these Ladies have seen everything so there is no
reason for embaressment. There is a Fashion Form brand that you can adhere
to your body and you don't have to worry about it moving around.
Good luck!!!

The best bra I have found, not a strapless, was the gel cup bra from
victoria secrets. I call it my $36 boob job. I don't know about strapless
but I got a padded bra from the Lane Bryant catalog that has clear plastic
straps. I think it is a 38C. But other places should have the same thing.

Hi Teri- Wow, it's been a long time since I had the horrible task of
finding a strapless bra! At the time I was a 40 D, and I ended up buying
something at Fashion Bug that was 2 strapless cups with a
"shaper" that went down to the waist. It was very uncomfortable
but it did the job. My friend was recently in a wedding, and she was so
uncomfortable with the strapless look because she doesn't like her upper
arms. She asked the bride if she could have a small formal jacket made to
cover her arms. The bride was ok with it and it ended up looking great.
Would that help you out with your situation? Good Luck :o) Mea

Hi! For my wedding, I found that Lane Bryant had a wonderful selection of
strapless bras. Good luck and best wishes! Blessed Be! Sherry

If you cannot find a strapless that works, look for the kind that has the
clear plastic straps... You really cannot see them unless you are close-up
and looking for them! Congrats on your wonderful weight loss and have a
wonderful time at your Christmas Party!!<br>~~Wendy D, RNY 4/23/03,

When I was in that situation I ordered those silicone bra-fillers called
Curves from Curves.com. I also ordered a strapless bra from that same
website that had pockets to put the Curves into. It worked very well. In
fact that is what I am wearing in the formal photo on my profile (blue
dress) as that picture was taken before my breast lift. It was sort of
expensive but it worked very well and I wore those Curves in various bras
until my plastics. hugs,

My best advice is to wear a corset. I have several and I love them. They
lift and push and really help out in cocktail dresses. I have worn one on
formal night on several cruises that we have been on.
They hold you in everywhere and really aren't uncomfortable you just have
to get used to them. The thing I had to get used to the most was the fact
that my boobs were now up where they were supposed to be and not hanging
over my stomach.
Good luck!
