Question:
how do I get BCBS PPO to pay for cardiolite stress test ?????

Went for cardiac clearance and found that cardiologist insists on not only echo and ekg, but also a cardiolite stress test because I have high blood pressure.Don't most severely overweight people have high blood pressure? My ins. co. BCBS ppo will not cover test,dur to the fact they don't feel HBP warrants this test.It's a $1300.00 test.What do I do??? I need cardiac clearance.... please help me!!!    — Diane H. Maybe you can get your pcp to code it as something that he is not sure if you have or not and this test is the only thing that can find out. My pcp ordered an echocardiogram to clear me for surgery and he used the code of an undiagnosed heart murmur, b/c he didn't know if I had one or not and that test would prove it one way or the other, you know what I'm saying. :-)
