While I am not very knowledgeable about this subject, my understanding is
that Vocational Rehab is designed for people who can not work for different
reasons. Many times morbidly obese people can not work because of their
high weight. Vocational Rehab (depending on state) will sometimes cover the
cost of this surgery because it will allow the person to lose weight and
therefore be able to go back to work. My initial thought was that since you
are apparantly able to work, you may not be a candidate for vocational
rehab. Good luck to you.

I don't think any vocational rehab department will pay for any
type of surgery; their function is to assist people in finding
and retaining employment. While that often includes paying for
assistive technology, it doesn't cover surgery.

YES!!!! Vocational rehab may be for you. They of course have certain
criteria that must be met before they pay, its absolutely worth giving it a
shot. Theyre goal is to assist people with disabilities find and/or keep
employment or find better employment. I know because I did it! You must
first make an appointment to see a counselor, then tell them of your
obesity makes it difficult to perform your job and why. There are also
requirements such as financial pay stubs and evaluations from Physicians
but it was worth it for me!! Remember, I had mine done in Texas. All
states have a different set of rules. I wish you the best of luck.
