Question:
Does anyone have advice about appealing an insurance descision
I have had 2 verbal "yes your surgery is covered"answers and then. They sent me a written denial letter. I already have a date (apr 24th) and now what!I don't know where to go from here.Do I need to get an attorney? Can I appeal this myself.what are my chances of a reversal? Thank you!! — Denise A. Oh Denise I am so sorry about your situation. Did you contact your
insurance company and get the particulars surrounding your denial? Did you
mention the fact that you were initially approved? I retained a lawyer
because I was denied from the beginning and it took me over a year to get
approval. I went through the entire appeals process with a lawyer and
still got the same results as a person that did not retain a lawyer. The
decision was overturned at the state level in my favor. I wish you well

If you look on to my page you will see that I had some of the same things
to happen to me. Well, I got my husbands employer involved and I told them
what happened and they called their acct. excutive, to inquire about the
situation. Well as we all know the acct. excutive does not want to loose
this huge contract so therefore he tells them to ignore the denial and it
get's approved. I was told by the Human Resource Dept. at my husband's job
that they would not keep an insurance co. that could not meet their
employees needs. If you have insurance through your employer or husband's
employer I would certainly get them involved it worked for me.
