Question:
Has anyone been approved through UHC in Kansas or Missouri?

I am looking to correspond with anyone in Kansas or Missouri that has been approved for WLS and who has United Healthcare Choice Plus Select POS. If I get denied I want to provide evidence to the appeal board that they have in fact covered this surgery in the past and who have the exact same policy as me. My policy is UHC of the Midwest. Go to the top of the page and click on Insurers. I noticed in Kansas that a few people were approved for RNY through United Health Care. Looks like you've got a great chance. Good luck.

I hope this will be helpful to you. I am not in the midwest, but in California. I have had the most wonderful experience with UHC. I had actually looked online at my uhc.com to see if my surgeon was covered under the plan I had, and found out in advance that it was. I was still a little apprehensive but it only took 2 weeks from my consultation to approval. I hope all goes well with you. I will be having surgery at the end of April! I don't think you should have any problems, especially w/ the choice select plus, which is what I have also. Let me know how it goes!
