Question:
I am over two years post op and gaining weight any suggestions?
I lost 62 lbs and still had another 40 to go when I started to gain weight. The doctor I had is now retired. We lived in MN and now live in Mitchellville, IA. Any suggestions on anyone who I could see to follow up. I did not come this far to fail. I know they say they can fix the body but they can't fix the mind but I really need help with this. There has to be something I am not doing right or something that needs to be worked out. Please help! We didn't have a support group or diet after the transition to regular food. — jewelie F. You didn't say what kind of surgery you had....? Let us assume that the
following is true: you've been taking 60g of protein supplement a day, 64
oz of water, the correct vites for your surgery, and doing no milk, no
sugar, no grazing, no drinking with meals. If so, then is it possible that
your staple line is disrupted? Have any pain now? Feel any different? Bowel
changes? Got a doc nearby who can do a scope and will grasp what has been
done? Also, I'd recommend you get a copy of your op report to keep on
hand, and of course, all labs done on you, including the pre-op. These will
be helpful to you, as well as any doc who treats you NOW.

It might be worth a try to take the whole family into therapy with you.
There are places that treat drunks, and the whole family goes in. They
might not like you fat, but the thin(ner) you might not be a person that
they are comfortable with.
I had a few run ins with my 'husband' over bringing candy home. He did it
out of habit, as a treat, but not once did he ever bring anything else.
Not a flower, not a cute T-shirt or toy.
I still buy candy for myself, you must know when, but he doesn't do it
anymore. We have to quit being so damned nice about these things. It's
not just husbands.
When I was at home and trying to diet my mother would get wind of it and
the next time she came home it would be in the company of something from
from the in-store bakery.
Not that she didn't give me a hard time. She once said that I looked like
the A&W Root Bear. That was not the only remark she ever made.
Ask yourself about what's eating you. They may be uncomfortable questions;
but I have a book that states, 'the moment you start trying to control your
eating, it starts controlling you'.
Now, I understand that statement. And I don't try to control my eating. I
eat what my body wants when it wants it. Lettuce leaves, cabbage leaves,
tomatos, cucumbers, onions, garlic, green peppers.
I didn't say that I liked it, I just said that I did it.
Good luck.
