We're collecting information on any people who died before surgery from obesity-related complications while waiting for their insurance companies to approve them. Eric Please remember Jeffrey Hanes, Surgery: Hoping to have surgery BMI: 87.1 Winston Salem, NC, USA <p> Jeff died Saturday July 22, 2000. He was 665 pounds. His insurance had denied his initial request for 'special' weight loss surgery. It was being appealed. He died waiting.
