Question:
Anyone get approval for a Tummy Tuck with Mail Handlers Insurance??
I am a Federal Employee and it is open season fro health benefit changes. May of 2003 Mail Handlers Insurance covered my gastric bypass surgery. Now I am to the point of needing a tummy tuck. Last year due to the cost I had to change insurance. But I am considering changing back to Mail Handlers. If anyone has had a tummy tuck approved by them I would greatly appreciate hearing about it. — babrewer (posted on November 20, 2004)

Barbara~
Sorry, I am no help, but as I also have Mailhandlers, I would be very
interested to know what you find out and also in your progress! My email is
[email protected]
I do know that the last check up phone call that I had with Mailhandlers I
asked my "care manager" about a tummy tuck as she has also had
this surgery. She said if your dr. requests it as medically necessary,
there is a good chance that they will cover it.

Thanks Rachel for your response. I will probably switch back to them. I
have called at least 3 times to their customer service and each time I get
the same response. They tell me what you said. If your Dr can prove
medical necessity they will cover it. I will keep you informed.
