Question:
I FEEL AWFUL!! PLEASE HELP!!! STOMACH PAIN
I am 3 1/2 years post op, and was doing very well until July of last year. I got this dull stomach pain that is ALWAYS THERE!! It never goes away. nothing makes it better except pain killers. I've had every test in the book, my blood tests show all my levels normal. Nobody can find out what's wrong with me. It's a dull pain from my bellybutton up. my life is going down the tube. it's making me depressed. I don't have a gallbladder. I've had endoscopys, catscans, upper GI, and many more. They find nothing wrong. This is so frustrating. I don't know what to do. I'm so tired of being sick all the time. i just want to feel good again. i'm only 21 years old. if anyone has any ideas, please, please let me know. thank you. [email protected] — Abby R. I am no expert but it sounds to me like an umbilical hernia.

Abby, ask your doctor if they will scope you (technically - from
colonoscopy up) into your blind stomach to make sure everything is fine
there.

Have they checked you for H pylori?
It is a bacteria in your stomach.

have you tried taking prilosec or zantac?? I have a similar pain that also
radiates into my back, and its cause I produce too much stomache acid or
something, and since the acid gets produced in the "un-used" old
parts of our stomache theres nothing for it to do but irritate our
stomaches and intestines.....
give the over the counter zantac a shot, its not strong enough for me,
stops working before the 12 hours is up, but you'll be able to tell if its
working, the zantac starts working for me within about 1 1/2 hours and
lasts about 4 hours. Best of luck to you, I know how miserable it is to be
in pain all the time. I'm also only 21, wonder if this has anything to do
with our age??

Abby, I have been there. It is not fun living on pain killers just to
function. With me it was ulcers, but with your scopes they would have
found that with you already. I have to agree with a previous poster when
they suggested some kind of acid reducer. I've been on plenty and nexium
or aciphex is the best. Give it a try, it could just be that your stomach
is over producing acid. During one of my surgeries they made the
determination that that is what was going on with my body. Because of that
they cut the vegus (sp) nerve. I wouldn't recomend that to anyone. One of
the side effect....you don't really feel when you're full. Bad. Anyhow, I
feel for you, it is never fun living with the pain. Becky

Have you tried the alternative to rx drugs? For severe acid reflux attack
after LAp Band surgery in desperation I found a miraculous remedy.
1 teaspoon of raw honey-it heals and soothes the stomach, and also Geroge's
liquid aloe vera. It looks and tastes exactly like plain water. Heals the
esophagus, stomach, gut etc. I had healing relief after 30 min. of sipping
the aloe-it was a miracle after 36 hrs.of pain and no sleep.I could not sit
or lay down, only stand. After years of prevacid, nexium and all the
rest-this simple combination ended my pain. The medical community doesn't
have this information-they rely on drug companies for education. Try it-you
will be shocked it is so easy to help your self.
