Question:
How do you walk away the pounds, exactly?
I've always read good posts about the Walk-Away-the-Pounds videos, and I hope this doesn't sound too dumb, but what EXACTLY is involved in the exercise program? Is it walking in place? What's on the tape? Music? Scenery? Is there equipment involved? Even at the walk-away-the-pounds web site they don't talk about what the tapes actually have you do. How are they different than other low-impact aerobic exercise tapes? Thank you. — Kim A. (posted on November 30, 2003)

Hi Kim,
Walk Away the pounds involves basically marching in place at a very brisk
pace. It incorporates different arm movements and leg positions to increase
intensity and provide toning to different muscle groups. There is also a
portion that uses 2lb hand held weights. The set up is basically like any
aerobics class type video there is upbeat music and a group of walkers of
different ages, sizes and degrees of fitness led by Leslie Sansone and you
follow them through the workout.I think these tapes are different because
basically its walking so anyone can do it its very easy on the joints
unlike a lot of routines that involve alot of bouncing and jumping they
also show you how to modify until you can do the exercises full out. When I
started doing the tape I was 311 and suffered from osteoarthritis hip and
lower back pain but I was still able to do the tapes,as a matter of fact I
started 1 month prior to my band surgery and on the day of surgery I had
LOST 15 POUNDS!
Good Luck
