Hi! I had my TT approved on appeal with Cigna EPO, like their HMO plan. I
will be having the surgery in 14 days! 11/17/2003 These were the
requirements: 1. Panni is hanging at or below the level of the symphysis
pubis, as demonstrated on pre-operative photographs; and
2. The panniculus is causing persistent intertriginous dermatitis,
panniculiitis, cellulitis, or skin ulceration, that is refractory to at
least six (6) months of medical management (i.e., in addition to good
hygiene practices, treatment with topical and /or systemic corocosteroids,
antifungals and/or local or systemic antibiotics; and
3. The presence of the panniculus is interfereing with activities of daily
living.
They do not consider "low back pain" a medical necessity.
Get your doctor to document any and all rashes or problems! Good Luck!
