Question:
Meeting my surgeon for first time next week...

And would like to know if anyone can offer suggestions for questions to ask? I have read others questions and would like to know if anyone had any extra ?'s they thought of later...I am 32, 5'10" 556 lb with bmi of 79.8...thanks for your time!!!    — Phillip C. (posted on August 27, 2003)

"WLS Deb" has a long (very good) list on her profile on this site of different questions to ask the Dr when you go in for consult. Look under the FIND PEERS part of this site and look up WLS Deb. I know this will be very helpful. You can then print it out to take in with you. Also (it was brought up on our local OSSG site) you want to ask the surgeon if there are any "up front" fees that you will have to pay for BEFORE surgery. Some people on the OSSG site were saying that some Drs will ask for up to $1000-$2000 "UP FRONT" before they will agree to do the surgery. I'm not saying that your Dr will be this way but it's always good to ask. Hopes this helps!! Becky M-Consult with WLS Dr 10/23/03
