Question:
from 6 weeks to 3 months how many calories and carbs per day
Hi everyone, I am 6 weeks out and I need to know how many carbs and calories I should be getting a day. I try to get in 60 g of protien and 64 oz of water, but I would like to keep close track of carbs and calories too. I eat between 2 and 3 oz at 4-6 meals a day. open RNY 4-24-03 down 30#. Thankyou :0) — wizz46 (posted on June 12, 2003)

Good work in your early loss-- congratulations. As for carbs, I have
tended to keep it to about 45-60 grams a day. However, every few days, I
will have a small serving of baked beans for the fiber.
Also, whenever I feel that I'm at a plateua, I will get into the Atkins
induction diet (you know, where you limit your carbs to about 10 a day).
This sytem has seemd to work as I'm down 26 inches in my waist (that's a
loss of 224 pounds) in the 8 mos. since my LAP RNY in October of 2002.

My doctor has given me the guide lines: Cal 1000 max, Carbs not more than
100g/day and 60 to 80 grams of protein per day. They also have told me to
just do 3 meals a day (even though they are sooo small) and do water and
protein supplements in between. I'm right at 6 weeks too!!! I get most of
my cals and carbs from the protein supplements I do. I'm finding it so
hard to get in all the water, protein, and then finding time to eat a meal.
I just keep trying as hard as I can everyday!!! Hope this helps :)
