Question:
Insurance Paid for Consult, Does it Mean They Will Approve Surgery?
I had my consultation with my surgeon. 2/26 haven't heard any thing from my surgeon about a date yet but did get a letter from my insurance company showing where they paid for my consultation so I was wondering if that means they will also approve my surgery? — Virginia G. My insurance paid for the consultation fee of the surgeon and now are
denying me and saying I don't have enough information and asking for
documentation 2 of them of seeing a Dr related to my weight for 26 weeks
each. And one recent which I can work on that one starting in March and
following through all summer. It may take me never who knows.Sorry I
couldn't give you a positive answer.

My insurance did not pay for my consult. I paid out of pocket BUT I was
approved within 3 weeks. What insurance do you have???? All insurance co
differ. Check under the "insurers" link up top and see if yours
is listed and how long it took etc. Also be sure to get any and ALL medical
records together for them. My doc told me if I was treated for a hangnail
he wanted that documentation. So go to every Dr, hospital, ER etc and get
that info. Good luck. Jamie

My initial consult was approved and I was told by my Primary Care Physician
that meant the surgery would be approved - but it wasn't. In fact, I got
the approval for my psych eval and my denial for the surgery on the same
day.
