Question:
I have pain on my upper right??
3-10-03, I am feeling a little bit stronger everyday. I had surgery Januray 21. Except for this strange pain I have on the right side of my upper stomach. They took my galdblatter too, but everytime I yawn or sneeze, twits or even touch it feels like someone is stabbing me. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? IF so, email me [email protected] — Tracy M. (posted on March 10, 2003)

I had lap RNY on 1-30-03 with my gallbladder removed, also. For a couple
of weeks I had a pain on my right side, just under my rib. It was very
much like a "stitch" in my side and would hurt more when I would
breath deeply. It has since gone away and I attributed it to nerve endings
healing and my body adjusting to having an empty space where something (my
gallbladder) used to be.

I had my surgery on 28 January and was having some strange pains. It hurt
to breathe about 3 weeks post op. I called my nurse and she said I could
cointinue having various pains because of how I was "manipulated"
during surgery. my surgeon removed my gallbladder and said it was the
most difficult part of the surgery because it was "really tucked under
the liver". When I had the chest pains, I just kept remembering that
comment! If it's really bad, call your doctor or nurse. Hopefully they
are like mine and welcome all questions. Good luck to you.
