Question:
Has anyone had constant stomach ache after surgery??

I had a rounen-y on Oct 11. It was part open part lap and I got an infection a week out and had 3 weeks of nausea that is controlled by medicine now, but now for the last week or so I've been having a constant stomach ache that just won't go away. It hurts no matter what i eat or don't eat for that matter, but it hurts worse when I do eat. I am still on soft foods and only eat small amounts and very slowly. Has anyone ever expereinced this and is it normal and when does it go away, or has it been caused from a problem.    — Lori M. (posted on November 26, 2002)

Yes, I still sometimes do but I had many tests done and they think I had a cyst on my ovary. No fun, but it did get better. I was told we can have pain for no reason at all after this surgery. Good Luck.

I can't believe it -- you sound exactly like I did a few weeks ago. My surgery was 8-26 and I experienced the same symptoms as you are. I consulted with my MD and had just about every test possible and nothing was found. I started taking prevacid and after a few days was so much better. It's been about a month now and still need the prevacid about 3 times a week. I can eat and drink ok and almost never have the pain and nausea anymore.

I can't believe it -- you sound exactly like I did a few weeks ago. My surgery was 8-26 and I experienced the same symptoms as you are. I consulted with my MD and had just about every test possible and nothing was found. I started taking prevacid and after a few days was so much better. It's been about a month now and still need the prevacid about 3 times a week. I can eat and drink ok and almost never have the pain and nausea anymore.
