Question:
Pain where drainage tube was?
I am 6 weeks post op, I had scar tissue from a prior surgery removed when I had my surgery. Now I have a burning pain low where the drainage tube was. My insision went down lower than normal. It ends right about the same place. Has anyone else experienced pain like this that had adhesions removed? Or is it there because that's where the insision ends? I don't think it's a hernia, I don't feel any bulge or bump. — Linda C. (posted on October 2, 2002)

I have the same pain (Open RNY 8/6/02 -51 lbs.) and I just asked my
surgeon, and he said that he is not concerned at this point, because this
is more of a puncture wound, rather than a nice cut and will take longer to
heal. But I would still at least call your Dr.'s office and let him know
your concern. Mine is more like an annoying gnaw, rather than pain. Hope
this helped! Good luck!

Hey Girl,
I had quite a bit of scar tissue removed too and you know what? The
incision hasn't bothered me at all, its just where he removed the scar
tissue. It is my understanding that it heals slower. I am 7 wks out and it
is still a little tender bu not nearly as bad as it was..Good
Luck......Sharon
