Question:
My BMI here is 47 my BMI from my surgeon is 45.7. Why?

I went to the consultation. When I came back I updated my weight. The BMI said 47.?. The surgeon said I was @ 45.7. He says I'm a good canidate for the lap. He won't do the lap of I'm over 50. I don't plan on gaining weight but what if I do? Why is there such a difference in the 2?    — Paula G. (posted on August 28, 2002)

BMI is determined by your height and weight. You must have weighed differently on his scale that day...check your BMI here on this web site.
