My BMI here is 47 my BMI from my surgeon is 45.7. Why?

I went to the consultation. When I came back I updated my weight. The BMI said 47.?. The surgeon said I was @ 45.7. He says I'm a good canidate for the lap. He won't do the lap of I'm over 50. I don't plan on gaining weight but what if I do? Why is there such a difference in the 2?
