Question:
I just got home from the hospital today and the gas pains are killing me

I just got home today after my open RNY on 8/5/02. Everything went perfectly and they told me I was a model patient. Now, tonight I feel like my insides are going to explode! I have been walking, walking, walking and now worry that its not gas in my belly but a blood clot or something! Even my chest hurts! Give me some advise please before I call me docotr!    — Jean T. Gas-X (cherry flavored chewables) works wonders! (And it works quickly!) Hope this helps.:-)

I had the most awful gas pains about 2 days after lap RNY because I was told that they fill your belly full of gas to do the lap. You had the open and it has been 5 days since your surgery. I'm not sure it is gas. Be safe and call your doctor. If it is gas, all I could do was walk and wait it out-hurt like hell, worse than the surgery itself!
