Question:
Anyone had a panniculectomy at time of WLS then later had a TT covered by insurance?
My BMI is over 50 and I have a large panni. I am considering having my panni removed at the time of my WLS. I am worried if insurance will cover a TT later if I develop a lot of loose saggy skin from the weight loss. Anyone else know if insurance will cover the second TT if it is needed??? — [Anonymous] (posted on March 4, 2002)

Hi, I am having a Panniculectomy on 1-28-03, and before I can have a Tummy
Tuck, my doctor stated I have to have my hernia repaired. So he is going
to do this. We are then going to have the hernia repaired, then he is going
to have the Tummy Tuck done. So what I figure is, if your doctor has a
great person filling out the paper work, they can get the HMO's to approve
anything. And why not, you will have to have the muscles repaired, after
all the damage obesity causes. Good Luck, and I will post again in about a
year when my doctor does my Tummy Tuck.
