Question:
How do you measure your food?
I'm 4 months post-op, down 80lbs. I'm still having some food issues, I suspect mostly from overeating. I don't seem to know when I am full and that one bite too many does me in. Is there some type of cheap and easy measuring device I can buy or use to measure food in ounces? I have measuring cups, spoons, etc....and I suck with numbers...is there any easy of weighing food in ounces? — Robin O. (posted on January 12, 2002)

I am one week post op and purchased a food scale <$15. Comes with a
small dish on top of the scale and shows everything by ounce. I measure my
food and know exactly what I am eating. Hope that helps.

I also bought a food scale, Wal-mart, that measured in ounces and cost
under $10.00. I was concerned that would not be able to tell when I had
enough, so bought this just in case.

I also bought a small food scale, It comes with a small bowl to put the
food in.. I just weigh everything in oz's. Works great.. and it also holds
liquids such as soups and stews.. You can pick them up at any food store.
That way I don't go over board with my food intake.. Good luck.. Smiles..

Ronnie has an EXCELLENT idea with the disposable cups. Works great for me,
too. Only difference: instead of using the paper "Dixie" brand
cups.. you can get cups in the same size that are plastic..made by Solo.
Even 'wetter' items will keep longer in the fridge in the plastic vs. the
paper. Congratulations on your progress.. you're doing GREAT!

Just this past week I found 3 ounce "condiment cups" in the
bakeware section of the local Kmart. They were only 69 cents each and are
dishwasher and microwave safe. I love them!
