I have the same problem. I have had no luck yet. He wants me to try all
these stupid WL pills. If you get any clever responses or figure out a
way, I would love to know. Best of luck to you!

If you realy want the surgery, change PCP's. Change to a WLS friendly type.
Even if it's just for the surgery, and you can go back to your old PCP
later.

I was shocked to hear that my PCP was supportive! I would suggest bringing
some research with you to the Dr. Some on WLS and some on WL meds. They
are pretty unsuccessful and have VERY nasty side effects. If not, I
totally suggest changing PCP's even if just for this situation.
Good luck!

You don't need a referral for a consultation it cost about $85.00 which I
paid out of my own pocket but it was worth every penney because I got
approved for the surgery. If your PCP won't do a referral for you I would
find another doctor who cares about your health as much as you do
