Question:
Could vitamins cause a rash on face and neck
I'm post op for 2 years, 6months ago a faint rash appeared on my forhead and during last few months has gotten much worse and has spread all over my face and neck. It's like measles and tiny pimples, very red, ugly! I've been to 3 dermatologist and a allergy doctor beside my regular doctor and nobody knows what it is. So, I'm wondering if it could be vitamins? Any help is appreciated. If it helps at all I'm 58 years old. Lost 100 lbs and holding. Very healthy except for this. Thanks Hannah Rae — hannah R. (posted on October 7, 2001)

Did you change brands or types of vites recently?

Try stopping them!! If you think it is your vitamins, stop taking them for
about two weeks. If the rash goes away, it was the vitamins! If it doesn't,
it wasn't. Then gradually go through all the foods and meds, etc. that you
take doing the same thing, if you can. SOmetimes, once you have been on a
med for so long, you can develop an allergy to it.
Have you changed anything you eat or drink lately? If so, find out what it
is and stop eating or drinking it. Even if you changed BRANDS. If you
changed brands, stop using the product completely for a couple of weeks.
Let your body rest from the attack.
Have you changed soap? Body soap, hand soap, clothes soap, etc.? do you
have animals? Have you changed brands of kitty litter? their food? pet
spray? flea collars? anything to do with pets??
Do you have plants? Have you fed them plant food lately? Have you used a
different rose food than you've used before? anything different there?? Any
kind of bedding material that you use for getting your veggie or flower
beds ready for winter??? Cedar does what you are describing to me....
Do you have kids? Have you had to give them antibiotics? Did you get some
on you? Is it one you KNOW you are not allergic to?? Are you sure?? Giving
them their vities? Vitamins have "dusty" surface, and unless you
wash your hands after handling them, you could ingest something from their
vities... check it out.
Have you been messing with crafts and artsy stuff lately?? Some of those
paints, oils, glues, etc. can cause reactions like that...
I hope I have given you some areas to think about. Good luck finding out
what is going on!!
Hugs!!!

I agree with Sharon's post. Also since it is on your face and neck , how
about laundry detergent , fabric softner or makeup?

Hannah I have been expeirancing the same thing I had a little problem with
my skin and pimples before surgery. But now my whole face is covered in
very tiny pimples but they arn't like acne they itch like a rash it started
on my forehead and spread all over. Someone told me it might be the toxins
leaving my body. I am thirty and never had a skin problem this bad and I
havn't changed anything in terms of laundry or foods, even my vitamins are
the same ones I took before surgery. I am desperate to find out what is
causing this and how to take care of it I have an appt with a dermatologist
in two weeks.
