Question:
Has anyone used Medicaid for this surgery???????

I have looked at so many profiles(to many to count)and I have not found one person who has used Medicaid.Do they still pay for this surgery??I was wanting to know what kind of tests that they want you to have(sleep apnea,blood work,etc...),and do they cover all the expenses for the tests,and how long does it take them to approve you for the surgery???    — [Anonymous] (posted on June 14, 2001)

I am using Medicaid for this surgery and my surgeon told me that Medicaid has no problem approving as long as it's medically necessary. I did however had to work hard to find doctors who would take medicaid for all the pre-op testing. I just called a list of doctors and asked if they accepted Medicaid, some where in my neigborhood, and some was in other towns, but I got the job done...Oh yeah, nutristionist don't take Medicaid (at least in my town) so I had to pay. Call up Medicaid in your area and ask them. Good Luck, God Bless

I don't know what state you're from, but at least in Indiana I know they've covered a couple members from this state and personally I know they cover it, but at 5'7" and over 476 lb. they denied me the first time. Feel free to read my profile for that line of bull. I know they've covered all the pre-requisate testing that I had to have the first time except the at home apnea test that I had that was given to me free by the company for various reasons..
