Question:
Embarrassing question...anyone have dry heaves at the same time as having a normal BM

I've looked this up on the message board and can't find anything exactly like this...only dry heaves, but not while having a BM. This has happened to me several times, but last week I was the first time I was really heaving and nothing came out. This was happening while I was in the midst of having a regular BM (not diarrhea. I started feeling so nauseated and then started having dry heaves and thought it would never end. As soon as the BM was finished so did the dry heaves. This has happened before, but it was only slight nausea, not heaving. Anyone else have this happen? If so, did you call the doc? Thanks    — [Anonymous] (posted on April 1, 2001)

I've had this problem off and on. The first episodes were diarrhea and vomiting and/or nausea together. Just this past weekend I experienced extreme nausea while having a normal BM. I haven't been overly concerned because this used to happen to me occasionally pre-surgery due to irritable bowel syndrome caused by my fibromyalgia. I mentioned the diarrhea adn vomiting during a doctor visit and he wasn't overly concerned since it only happened for a short period of time. If it continues you may want to call the doctor. The only stupid question is the one you don't ask. If you find out anything substantial let me know. Good luck. (7 mo. post-op & -102 lbs.)
