Question:
HELP!!!!!!!!!! I Need some Information.....
I Am looking for anyone that have dealt with John Alden, They are a branch off of Medical Mutal, and my Insurance has a clause stating that they will not pay for any treatment related to obesity, Id like to know if anyone else has had this problem and give me some information on how to work around it, and if anyone has ever been approved without the help of a attorney.... — Ann A. We have John Alden Life Insurance and we checked our policy further to see
if they covered such surgery. My surgeon believes I will qualify because I
meet the criteria below which was printed in our policy:
Covered medical charges do NOT include any charges:
For treatment of obesity, unless diagnosed as endogenous morbid obesity by
a Physician. "Morbid Obesity means 100 lbs. over ideal weight as
determined by the Metropolitan Life, Height & Weight Tables for Men and
Women." "Endogenous morbid" obesity is obesity that is
caused by some metabolic abnormality with the body.
I guess the only recommendation I have is to specifically read your policy
and let your surgeon be aware of the guidelines. Possibly he can help to
"make you fit such crtieria".
I am awaiting approval so I have my fingers and toes crossed. Good luck!
Hope this helps!
