Question:
My doctor sent in all my paperwork
on Sept. 1 and now the insurance, BCBS of Mich. say they can`t find any information about me anywhere in their `system`. Is this just a ploy to try to make me give up or is this for real ? Has anyone else ever experienced this ? First they didn`t want to answer any questions and now I`m out in cyberspace somewhere. Thanks for any input. — Kay R. (posted on October 19, 1999)

They seem to all lose things for awhile just think. With all the cut backs
and everything else they are just covered with a lot of paperwork. It is
easier to say they lost it. Always make copies of everything so you can
say,Well I can fax you a copy that seems to work for me. 2 days later they
found it, Dah

I would ask my Doctor's office for a copy of what they sent to BCBS( it
should be in your chart) and then I would get a name of who it should go to
at BCBS & then either fax it to their attention or if BCBS is close by
I would hand deliver it.(I've been in ins. for 21 yrs I know how things get
"LOST???") Stay determined....they're playing with your life&
health & a happier future once you"ve had the surgery. Best of
luck!!!!

After months of hearing my doctor and insurance company say, "its in
review" The same thing happened to me! One day I called and they said
they have never heard of me and they had no paperwork!! I was so mad. my
doctors resent the paperwork, my husband called and cussed out the
insurance and I was approved about 5 days later! It seams in my case I
basically had to insist that things get done!! good luck to you!

Kay, I have BC/BS of IL and they "lost" my paperwork first time
thru also. I am beginning to think it is a stall tactic (no, I'm not
getting paranoid LOL). You do have to be persistant & try to deal with
one person when you call into the insurance co. Good Luck

Did you keep a copy of everything you sent in? If your surgeon sent the
paperwork in, they should have kept a copy, just get a copy and call your
insurance company and demand a fax number. They will tell you they dont do
that, but they do...keep asking to speak "to their supervisor".
Good luck.
