Question:
What is the Pouch size suppose to be at 3 years after the surgery?

I did the cottage cheese test and it proved that my pouch is way to big if you ask me. It holds 13-16 ozs. What is the amount it is suppose to be at 4-8? I am gaining weight and want ideas to get this under control HELP!!    — Vicky R. (posted on January 7, 2003)

Sounds like you have a fairly large pouch. The average size is supposed to be 8-12 oz. You're not TOO far over that. I saw one dr that recommended his patients eat things that are filling but won't leave the pouch quickly like chopped chicken breast and apples. I would think that you will still be OK but that you may have to be pretty strict about "the rules" like not drinking while you eat, no caloric beverages, etc. Good luck!
