Question:
Can anyone tell me if all the Tylenol products are okay for us posties to take?

I woke up this morning with a scratchy throat and I'm well aware of what this means. Within the next couple days I'll have a full-blown cold, runny nose, coughing, sore throat. Just wanted to make sure that all the Tylenol Cold/Flu products are safe for us to take. (this will be my first post-op cold) I know to check the ingredients label for sugar, but has anyone had a bad reaction to cold medicine without sugar? Any help would be appreciated. Rozey, I saw someone's page that had a complete listing of non-prescription medications to avoid and those that were okay. I have that page bookmarked, so I'll find the page and send you the web address for it. BUT, I DO remember that Sudafed was on the "OKAY" list and it doesn't make you sleepy. Hope you feel better! I'll send the page!

I am not a medical expert, but as far as I know, the Tylenol products are OK. You do not want to take anything with aspirin or ibuprofen as those can irritate your pouch.

Rozey, I can't find the page. I'll post a message on the message board and maybe someone will answer us.

I fyou are worried about the surgar content just call the 800 number on the package. Just remember that adult liquid tylenol has 14 grms of sugar in it. I know I dumped second day home from hospital with that product. Good Luck!!

My nutritionist suggested Zicam for colds. It works just like the zinc losenges, but it is a nasel spray, so you don't have to worry about swallowing it. It is supposed to be really great. I've purchased some at CVS pharmacy, but haven't needed to take any yet.

Hi. I have a list of medications I can take. On my list it says I can take all Tylenol products. Unfortunately for me, tylenol has never worked for me. So, I have to get a prescription for pain or whatever. Good Luck :)

I can vouch for Zicam. I was sniffly, congested TWICE in the past month and I am scheduled for surgery tomorrow. Both times I took mega doses of Vitamin C and used Zicam. Viola! No cold manifested each time. Over Christmas my whole family was very very sick. I was the only one who used VitC and Zicam and I didn't get a fullblown cold.

Ahh you might be interested that theres a theory that cold medicines prevent our bodies from fighting bugs as effectively. They are less severe but last longer. Other than something for headaches I take nothing and they are over faster than my wives, who appear to drag on.
