Question:
I had Hep Non A Non B in 1986 Is this a disqualification for the Roux N Y?
I don't know anything about Hep C. I do know that I have had every blood test known to man and I am constanly supervised by Dr.'s and I have not had one of them say anything about this Problem. Except for one physician in 1996 that said I had it, it's gone and not active what ever that means.I am planning on my surgery Hapenning and nothing else. — Denise P. (posted on November 27, 2002)

I found out I have Hep C when I had my pre-op tests. They didn't know if I
would be able to have surgery or not without more tests. Most likely your
surgeon will want to check your viral load. Mine was like 6 which is very
low. Plus it's not active right now so I was able to have my surgery.
Just tell your surgeon about it and I'm sure it shouldn't affect you having
surgery.
