Question:
Would filtered water [rainsoft] be better to drink than water from the tap?
We've had our water tested, it very hard and has a high chorine amount, you can smell it....After surgery, would it be better to dring water that has been filtered, such as RainSoft, or drink the tap water from the foset [?spelling], any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks — Janet M. I think you answered your own question there, my friend. I have always
selected bottled water. Water is hard enough to get down post-op and if it
smells of chlorine & doesn't taste pure, one may tend not to drink as
much. Unless money is the issue, in that case, add a little crystal light
and use whatever water you have.

I would do a combo. Use filtered water part of the time and real water the
rest. There was a short report at the ASBS conf last summer that said that
100% bottled water users are showing trace mineral deficiencies. I
recently spoke with a dentist who said that the 100% bottled water people
are having more tooth & bone problems--same reason. Perhaps you can
find a filtering system that leaves the critical minerals and takes out the
stuff you don't want.

I do not, and would not, drink tap water. If you knew what was in tap
water you wouldn't drink it either. I highly recommend drinking filtered
water, and as Michelle said, supplement with (liquid) minerals. Patti S.

Pur water systems for your faucet are about 40 bucks and the filters (which
last about 2 months - family of 4 drinking water only) are under 15 at
Walmart. It removes the taste and smell of chloride but leaves the
important minerals and is a whole lot cheaper than bottled.

Better I don't think so. Tastery yes!! If it helps you to drink water go
for it. The cost may be as much as $10.00 per week. Hey we save twice that
by not eating snacks like cookies and ice cream :) good Luck
