Question:
HAS ANYONE TRIGLYCERIDES BEEN AS HIGH AS 732?
My triglycerides are 732. My PCP has put me on Tricore and it has caused side effects. I am having sharp pain in my abdomin that last a few seconds everyday and also when I urinate it burns. Please someone respond and let me know if this will help me out in getting the surgery approved through my insurance also. — Nicole H. (posted on May 25, 2002)

Mine were over 300 and I thought that was really high. Wow, yours are
high! And mine helped me get approved, so it should definitely help you.

It seems to me that mine were somewhere between 500 and 600. I also took
tricore. I had a lot of muscle pain all the time. It did bring it down
somewhat but it was still high. Now everything is normal and I dont take
any of those kinds of meds at all now.

My Triglycerides were 1095 before being put on Gemfibrozil and only dropped
to 477 after taking the medication. I believe that was a big factor in my
PCP sending me for a consult with my weight loss surgen. I am now 8 weeks
out and down 35 pounds. I don't know what my Triglycerides are now as I
won't be having my blood tests for another month. Have you told your PCP
that you are experiancing side effects? Maybe you should and possibly he
could change your medication. Good luck!

My triglycerides pre-op ranged from 600-3000 on 600mg of gemfibrozil(Lopid)
twice a day. At 3 months post op my triglycerides were 141 on NO MEDS since
the day of surgery. Normal triglyceride level is <150.
