Trish, I am 4'11 &1/2. I had my surgery...Lap RNY on January 15, 01. I
have lost 65 pounds so far. I started out at 236 lbs. You will do fine,
just remember this is a tool and we have to use it properly. Best of luck

Hi Trish..My name is Angela. I am 5'0 tall and I weighed in at 258lbs.
Actually i weighed in at 253 at the hospital and gained 5 in the hospital.
When i left i was 258..I included my water gain. But anyway, I noticed WITH
ME (and you can check out my photo's if you like), that by me being short,
it made a huge difference on my appearance. After two weeks, I lost 25lbs
and 25lbs on my short body was a lottttt!! Then at six weeks i was at
36lbs..It keep going down and people started noticing my weight loss AFTER
JUST 2 WEEKS. I see the big difference on me now. I am now 8 months post
op. I am down to 166lbs. (last checked..could be less..i think i'm less..i
feel lighter). My 92lbs have made a huge difference on my appearance. If i
was taller..I probably would be at goal now. My goal is 140lbs. I don't
want to be to skinny. But us shorties have some advantage. Depends on how
your body is built. Go check out my before and after photos. I have surgery
on July 10th for a tummy tuck and hernia repair. I wish you all God's love
with your surgery on the 27th. You will do great. God bless you.

I am 4'11" and started at 253 less than a week before my surgery. I
had a LAP RNY on 12/11/00. At six months out, I have lost a total of 65
pounds. I have a hard time noticing the difference other than in my face.
However, everyone else has noticed a big difference. Especially if a person
doesn't see me for 2-3 weeks. They always say they can't believe how much
thinner I look since they last saw me. As far as total weight lost, I
thought I have heard that people with a little less to lose, (us shorties)
can usually get to goal weight a little easier than taller, heavier people,
but I believe it is all individual. Some people who start out at around 250
pounds or less tend to lose more slowly, so I guess you should just forget
about how fast others lose and just stick with your post-op plan. It'll
come off when your body is ready. Good luck.

I am 4"11" and started out at 235 lbs. I am 10 weeks post op and
have lost 55 lbs. When I went back to work at 4 weeks post op people
commented on how much I lost in my face. Don't compare your self to others.
Concentrate on getting to a healthy weight.
