Question:
Does anyone suffer from a stomach bulge
I am 8 months post op and as I continue to lose weight I have noticed that directly above my scare I have a bulge which gets bigger as I eat food or consume liquids. Can this be my stomach? I usually do not eat more than 4 to 8 ozs at each meal 2x's daily. The bulge does not hurt or do I have any symptoms of a hernia. I am a little concerned that this is my new stomach. Any ideas would be appreciated. — andrea C. (posted on May 3, 2001)

I had a bulge that looked like someone had put their fist though my stomach
at first, then I noticed it eating more, then it became a constant bulge, I
showed it to my WLS and I had two hernias, which I had repaired in March,
you may show the area to your doctor. Good Luck

Definitely sounds like a hernia.

I am only 3 months post-op and have this too. Mine looks also like a fist
through my abdomen but I had a CT scan and it is not a hernia. The Doctor
says it is just because my abdominal wall was weakened during surgery
causing the intestines to buldge out. (not tearing through which would be a
hernia.) It is not dangerous only ugly and he says that it can be taken
care of with plastic surgery. But you should probably make sure it is not a
hernia first.
