Question:
No serious co-morbites other than severe depression
I had a complete physical this week and my doctor found no serious medical problems other than severe depression. My BMI is 51% and I am beginning to have arthritis and frequent back aches. Are these conditions enough to consider the surgery medically necessary? My ins. is Aetna POS in VA. — Angela J. (posted on May 4, 2000)

Absolutely, Angela! Although each doctor is different, and each insurance
is different, your weight is contributing to those conditions, and many
surgeons and insurance companies would say you qualify. Jaye

I do not have major problems except my feet hips, and back hurt all of the
time. I have had a little high blood pressure in the past. I was approved
by my insurance with the first letter from my Dr. I live in VA too. I hope
everything works out for you.
