Question:
I need to lose 15 more lbs to be at goal? What can I do?
I'm just 8 months out, and I'm down 105 lbs. I need to lose 15 more lbs, and it is coming off slowly (plus I gain two, lose two, gain two, lose two)....I've consistently kept my carbs to 20 or less per day, and now it seems I eat ALL the time (I try my best to stick to low carb, high protein foods). Any advice?? I so badly want to get to goal......should I allow my body more time being that I'm just 8 months out?? — richarro (posted on January 27, 2004)

I'm 14 months out and I've got about another 30 to go. I've decided to
jump start my metabolism again by staying on a protein shake diet this
week. I've found a protein shake by Carbolite or carbo-lite (can't
remember which) that has 24 grams of protein per shake and doesn't taste
too bad. I'm going to stick with this for a week to get the scale moving
again and then go to the induction phase of the Atkins diet for 2 weeks.
Make sure that you get your protein in and your vitamins. I've been doing
this for 2 days and the scale has started moving. Good luck

I looked at your profile and I think your doing great. Your 8 months postop
and you will still lose wt.Increases your proteins and the stay away from
carbohydrates and sugar,s drink plenty of water and increase your
exercising. Walking was a good exercising for me and I also joining Curves
and worked out. I believe you will make your goal. May your future be
lighter and brighter.19 month postop 230 - 102 now 128

Whats your rush? You still have quite a bit of time yet, and altho the
weight will come off slower, it should continue to come off. That two
pounds up, then down, then up is not unusual. One day it will be two
pounds up, then 4 pounds down...Watch how much you eat though. It is still
a calories game. Stick to the lo carb and high protein and eat small
amounts every few hours. I hope you are also exercising and drinking tons
of water? That truly is the key-that heart pumping cardio burns those
calories, and lots of water too. Good luck, you'll get there.

At 8 mo out you still will be losing only at a slower rate. I predict you
will lose that 15 pounds, perhaps more.

I know your pain. I was the same way. From months 6 to 8, I lost NO
weight. Then all of a sudden it kicked up in month 9 right before I had my
tt. After the tt, the rest of the weight dropped off of me in just about a
month. Granted, 5 pounds was skin but the other 10 I had to lose on my
own. Increase your exercise and maybe that will help.
