Question:
How much water can I drink at a time?
I have spent most of the past 15 months (since surgery date) only drinking two bottles of water a day - which amounts to about 32 oz. I KNOW that's not enough but I was a little scared to drink too much and also try to get enough food in each day. This past week, I have upped that amount to 4-5 bottles a day and have started losing weight again. Now, my question is this... how do I know I'm not stretching out my pouch with this much water? I definitely DO NOT want that to happen! I have been so afraid of doing that all along and after this much time, and 77 lbs lost, I don't want that. So how do I know how much water to drink and how much per hour, etc? Please help. I've come this far, and I only have 19 lbs to my goal and don't want anything to jeopardize that. (Started at 206.6; now weigh 129.4 @ 15 mos. out) Thanks for all the responses I can get here. -- Pam — pjnick (posted on January 18, 2004)

Drinking water will not stretch your pouch. It runs right through it.
Just be sure you aren't drinking around meal time and you will be fine.

I agree with what Rebecca said - it goes through you. Just don't drink
until an hour after the meal - you can drink right up to 5 minutes before
it & be fine. You might want to read "Pouch Rules for
Dummies", it explains alot!
