Question:
Any information about success rate of conversion from AGB to RNY?

I have my date set for Oct.16,2003. My Dr. has informed me that switching from the band to RNY is sometimes not that successful. He said something about the stomach above the band being stretched (not in my case neccesarily, just sometimes). I PRAY THIS WILL WORK! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY MY LAST CHANCE! Everything I've read points to the stomach returning to its pre-banded state if the band has to be removed, so I'm not sure why your doctor said that. The only band to bypass "revisions" (although that's not a revision at all) I've EVER heard about were from people who had heard of people doing it. Yours is the first post I've ever seen from anyone who's planning on doing it. Out of curiosity, how long have you been banded? I tried to look at your profile, but it's unavailable.
