Question:
Which doctor in Louisville, KY should I use?

It seems like every time I research a doctor and feel confident that he is the one I really want to use, something happens. Either he isn't taking any new patients or he has moved his practice. Can anyone help me out here? My insurance is Medicare, so he would have to accept that. I live in Paducah, KY and the only reason I chose Louisvelle is that seems to be the closest bariatrics to my home. Any suggestions will be VERY MUCH appreciated. Thanks.    — Richard P. I have heard that Dr. Mark Shina is the best in the Louisville area and he does accept Medicare assignment and is at Norton's Surburban Hospital on Dutchmans Lane. I was going to go to him and even had a consult with him last year but decided to go to Lexington instead. I live a little closer to Lexington.

if dr shina takes it, he is a very good dr. i had dr allen, but im told he's not taking new patients this yr and his partners r no longer taking medicaid patients. i dont know if medicare is different, if so u might try calling them. good luck on ur journey, and u might try spotlighthealth.com for more answers.

Richard, I used Dr. Allen. I had to wait a year for my first appointment but I think he is an awesome docor. When I was still looking at doctors I bet I called every surgeon in Kentucky. I heard good things about Dr. Shina but I have Medicaid and his office said he did not accept it. Dr. Allen's group was the only one that I found at that time that accepted Medicaid. Maybe you will have more luck with Medicare. The waiting was the hardest part of my journey but it really has been worth it! Best of luck to you. God Bless.<><

Dr. David Geller, is relatively new but he is great takes a lot of time with his patients. He is in with Dr. Shina in Louisville. Lookup www.Rightweigh.com and you will find info about them both.

Dr. Shina is the best there is!! I don't know about medicare but call him and find out. He and Dr. Geller are in the same office. Betweeen the two of them surely one takes medicare. His phone # is 812-282-3930.
