Connecticare (Personal Care Plan) Insurance

Hi everyone!, I am from CT. and was wondering if anyone pre/post Lap Band surgery had Connecticare (Personal Care Plan) insurance, if so, was it covered/denied?. Any information would be welcomed. Thankyou    — Heather M. (posted on April 11, 2003)

Hello. Sorry to be the bearer of potentially bad news... My husband worked for CT care and I understand that their policy is that they do not cover lap banding at all. They still consider it experimental. Sorry. If you're not sure though, all you have to do is call and ask. They'll tell you on the phone. BTW- I had RNY with Ct Care and was approved in 3 days. (HMO, not PCP)

I have CT Care.I had open rny on Dec 30,2002.I am down 77 pounds.CT Care approved me in 2 days.They were very easy to deal with.I also heard as the previous poster said that Lap Band was not covered by CT Care.Good Luck,If you have any questions email me.I also am a patient of Dr.Valin's he is the greatest.He saved my life.
