Question:
Has anyone ever heard of the Natl. Laparoscopic Obesity Surgery Team (ILOST)

The above organization is supposed to have surgeons trained in the lap-band obesity surgery in parts of Europe. I'm interested in Dr. Favretti of the University of Padua in Italy. Anyone ever heard of him and ILOST surgeons?    — tara J. (posted on May 14, 2002)

Tara, While I was researching weight loss, the ILOST web sight was the first that I looked at. I was interested in the LAP BAND and the sight was wonderful. Dr. Favaretti is very helpful and he will respond to your e-mails in a timely manner. The surgeon in Monterey Mexico who does Lap Bands has had great reviews from the bandster web sight. Hope this helps.

I am familiar with the ILOST site. However, there are surgeons in the USA who do the procedure and who do it laproscopically as well. In addition, ILOST wants cash payment at of procedure. Soemthing to consider- In addition, if you have complications, Europe is far, far away and expensive to travel to in an emergency.
