Question:
I am three and 1/2 months post-op and my face is breaking out like I was a teenager.
Has anyone else experienced a change in their complexion after surgery? My face is a mess. Could it be the effects of the anesthetic or the change in diet - does my face miss all the fat I used to consume? Help, I'm too old to have teenage skin. — Lynne R. (posted on November 27, 2001)

Hi--I heard about that on another website...with the weight loss, comes an
influx of hormones and yup...you get teenage skin again. Good luck in your
weight loss...and just keep your pores clean. You may want to see a
dermatologist who can help you with some pore cleansers, etc. Make sure
you let that doctor know that you have had gastric bypass.
Good Luck.

I don't know if you are eating/drinking V8 or tomatoe juice, but I started
to break out about week 3. At about week 6 I asked my surgeon why? He
asked me if I was eating higly acidic foods or drinks like citrus or
tomatoe. When I told him I drank at least one can of V8 a day, he said if
I was really concerned about it, maybe I should lay off of the V8 for a
while. I did and within days I had no more pimples. I still drink V8,
just not as much as before and I have had no more problems with break outs.

I have the same problem and its really bad my Dr. said I wasn't getting
enough minerals I think he mentioned sweet potatoes and extra veggies to
build them up.
