Question:
Help...I'm 1 year post-op and have gone from 320lbs down to 175lbs
but all of a sudden, as of the last two weeks, my appetite has become "out-of-control"! I have been under some added stress (moved to new city, new job, living with future in-laws, rescheduling my wedding, ect.) but now I don't know how to get it all back under control. It seems like I am starving all day and when I eat, I then feel so miserable...and stuffed! But then in 30 minutes again, I'm so hungry AGAIN! I was down to 165 the day before we started moving and now two weeks later, I'm back up to 175...and I'm so depressed....and I feel so guilty. It there anyone out there who has gone through this? Can anyone recommend a 3 or 4 day diet plan to help me get back control of my appetite? Help, My wedding is 2 months away and I don't want to have to buy a bigger dress! Thank you. Hi Debbie, dont be ashamed, we all have problems. You might try councling,
your surgeon should know some familiar with eating disorders. I am pre op
and this is a big fear of mine.

Try eating protein, and cut the carbs out of your diet again for a few
days, and you should experience a loss of your uncontrolable appetite. Try
some stress reducers like: a nice hot bath, or a massage. Good luck!!

Not that you need the added stress, but have you been scoped to see if you
have a staple line disruption? Also, have you upped your protein
supplements to 90g a day or so, and over 64 oz of water? Filling yourself
up with what you NEED helps cut your cravings AND alleviates the whole
guilt trip, as well as doing some good along the way.

While I haven't had the surgery, I have found that when my cravings are out
of control, I chew on ice cubes. It helps with the need to chew, refreshes
me, and gives me a little added water intake, as well. Also, don't be
afraid to ask for help or support. Share your fears, thought and feelings
with your finacee, a friend, or email someone from this web site. We've
all been there, and sometimes it helps just to share the burden. Sometimes
we all get so caught up being super men and women that we often forget to
ask for some support because we feel we have to go it alone. Be honest and
open with the people around you, and ask them to help you. Sometimes a
simple 15 minute conversation can redirect you and help pull in the reigns.
Feel free to email me if you want to vent! [email protected] Good luck!!
Think positive!! :o)

Tracey ... CONGRATULATIONS on losing so much weight and your upcoming
wedding! I'd call NeWeigh and talk to someone there. Keep us posted on
all your new things going on in your life! Good luck!

Tracey- WOW what a lot to go through all at once. I have not had my
surgery yet (waiting on insurance), but I am back to doing Somersize. You
do not eat fats/proteins with carbs you can eat until you are full but the
weight does come off. This maybe a temporary answer for you until things
calm down. God Bless You! Kim Martin
