Question:
I am beginning to have severe physical, as well as hygiene, problems
and my ability to work is becoming more and more strained. My surgery will not be scheduled until sometime in July but I need to be able to make other arrangements concerning work. I cannot afford to be without a paycheck for several months but was wondering if anyone else had these problems and what they did about it. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks. — Sharon R. I am not sure this is a direct answer to your question. I am currently
receiving temporary disability benenfits from my employer. I have a list of
co-morbities like hypertension, degenerative bone disease, and psuedo-tumor
cerebri. My disability center also includes morbid obesity a reason for
disability. Check with your employer's Human Resource to see what benefits
you may have. I find it very painful to walk and stand for long periods of
time. Depending on what kind of work you do they may take that into
consideration. I hope this helps and I wish you the best of luck.

Hi Sharon, I agree with Vanessa. My company has wonderful benefits and i
sometimes forget that some co.'s have good ones and other ones have so-so
benefits. But check with your HR dept and see what is available until you
have your surgery and can return to work.
