Question:
How to get rid of cottage cheese thighs?

I'm 11 weeks out and my weight loss is going pretty well. I work out with weight machines several times per week, as well as attend water aerobics class 2 to 3 times per week. I've gone from a size 22 to a 16, so I'm pretty happy so far. BUT . . . I've noticed that my thighs and even my arms now seem to show more cellulite than when I was heavier. Almost like the fat puffed it up so it wasn't so bad before. Now it looks terrible -- I even have some on the calves of my legs. How does the cellulite go away? Does it just disappear one day in the future? How can I get rid of it? How did you other posties get rid of yours? Will I have to resort to liposuction? Thanks for your help! — Chris H. If what you're describing is cellulite, even lipo doesn't help much with it as lipo removes deep fat tissue and not the stuff near the skins surface, which is what cellulite is. There are some great articles online - do a google search and put in "get rid of cellulite". Massage seems to be a good temporary fix, but needs to be done often. Otherwise, creams, exercise and such don't do much for it.

After 160 lbs off, it's more like cottage cheese mixed with Jello in a gravity-free enviroment!!!!! LOVELY. I have worked out 4-5 days a week and it only gets worse! I see a "skin doctor" (plastic surgeon) on the 26th....Then I'll let ya know how to gert rid of it......

OK, I may have an answer for you. I am building a website for a local spa here, and the have a treatment called Endermologie. It is a machine that combines a deep massage with suction to improve blood flow. It is recognized by plastic surgeons for reshaping the body, treatment of cellulite, and it seems to help scars fade. It really seems custom made for WLS patients. You might want to check into it.

From the American Skincare & Cellulite Expert Association website: "Since its introdution to the USA, Endermologie was the first to be FDA approved for TEMPORARY reducing the APPEARANCE of cellulite." It would be cheaper to rub your own thighs with lotion and you'd get the same result. That's what my dermatologist recommended. She said lotion, lotion, lotion and rub, rub, rub everyday and it cuts down on the cheese factor.

THERE IS NO, AND I REPEAT NO CURE FOR CELLULITE! The only way you can drastically reduce the appearance of cellulite is through a body lift.
