Question:
Fat percentage versus weight question

I am 22 months out. I have what I think is an interesting question to pose. I currently weigh about 182 pounds. I have lost 180 pounds. I have been weight lifting and doing cardio vascular exercise 5-6 days a week for an hour a day. Recently, I had my fat percentage performed. When I first had it done (14 months ago) it was 44.7. This time is was 21.2 percent. For my age, weight and sex I am now in the athletic zone. However, I am still considered overweight. I will need to weigh 164 before I am in the normal range. I have lots, and I mean lots of loose skin on my legs. I can feel lots of muscle underneath, and I have lots of definition on my arms. Do you think this has to do with the hanging skin? Anyone else have this issue? Thanks in advance.    — sheron H. (posted on January 26, 2003)

I too have the same problem. I wish I had an answer for you. My % fat prior to surgery was 49.2 and I weighed 296. My weight is now 166 and my fat is 23.7%. It has helped me to figure my total pounds of fat and nonfat. My ideal body weight is 114 pounds. As you can see I will never weigh 114 pounds. I lift weights 3 days a week and do cardio 4-5 days(45 min per day). Like I said I have no aanswers I am struggling to lose about 20 more pounds, just wanted you to know you are not alone.
