Question:
My protein drinks are yummy... here's how!
I'm onto something that I just have to share. I have found a way to jazz up my chocolate protein drink (I use Optimum 100% Whey brand). I make it with 8 oz of water, one scoop of powder (maybe a little more so that I can get the total pro grams up to 30), and then I add a couple of teaspoons of CoffeeMate Hazelnut creamer powder (or a tablespoon and half of the fat-free liquid version). I use a shaker to get it well-blended, then add ice. Yum, yum, yum. Yes, it adds some extra calories (around 30 with the powdered creamer), but it's better than using milk, and makes it taste delish (nice and creamy, with a touch of hazelnut). I look forward to my protein "treats"! Anyone else with any tricks up their sleeve? JK, RN — Joya K. (posted on August 2, 2002)

hiya!
i couldn't tolerate the sweet protein mixes but i was introduced to
jarrow's iso rich isoflavones soy protein powder which i buy in 2#
container from www.vitamintrader.com for $25...i mix in 2tbls with my
coffee (25g protein/2 tbls) - it is a little chalky so i keep stirring
before i sip - but has only 110 calories, no fat, no sugar, no carbs! it is
also the only kind i've found that you can cook with. i mixed it into my
ricotta cheese mix in my lasagna last night, i stir it in with
casseroles...soup...you name it! it does say "natural vanilla
flavor" but it has no flavor...
just a different way to get protein!
good luck to you

Check out the ossg-protein site on yahoogroups.com. Lots of great shake
recipes. I discovered Hazelnut coffeemate a few mos ago and use it in my
ProBlend Mocha Cappucino. Try some sugar free jello pudding mix for some
added flavor as well. Good luck and God Bless!

http://www.vita4life.net is where I order my 30gm. packets of honey
flavored liquid protein. My special treat is to mix blackberry's with low
fat blackberry yogurt, fat free cool whip, 1 pkt. liq. protein, 2-3 ice
cubes in the blender. Usually, I just mix in my 20 oz. water bottle, 2 oz.
flat diet orange soda, 1 pckt. liq. protein and about 17 oz. water.

Davinci sugar free flavored syrups (www.davincigourmet.com). Banana syrup
in my vanilla shakes, caramel or peppermint patty syrup in my chocolate.
I love these things, and am having a great time experimenting with
different flavors. -Kate-

Try adding a teaspoon or 2 of Sugar-Free Nestle's Qwik to your vanilla
protein powder.
